History
Polo has been on five Olympic programs. In 1900, four teams competed and three of them were mixed. The team that won the gold medal included an American player and the silver medal team included an American player and a Spanish player. The French team that won one of the two bronze medals included an English player.
In 1908 and 1924, the teams played round-robin tournaments and the final standings were determined by the won-loss records. In the other three years, they played elimination tournaments. The final shown for those years is the score of the gold medal game.
