Game Summary

The Minnesota Vikings, known for their "Purple People Eater " defense, were favored by two touchdowns over the Kansas City Chiefs. But Kansas City's defense stole the show, holding the powerful Minnesota running attack to just 67 yards and forcing five turnovers in a 23-7 victory.

The Chiefs took a 16-0 halftime lead. After the Vikings put together a 69-yard touchdown drive at the beginning of the second half, Kansas City wide receiver Otis Taylor broke a tackle to turn a short pass into a 46-yard touchdown play that effectively iced the game.
