Game Summary

Franco Harris broke Larry Csonka's year-old record by rushing for 158 yards on 34 carries, while Minnesota was held to a record low 17 yards on the ground in taking its third Super Bowl loss. The only first-half score came when Pittsburgh's Dwight White tackled Fran Tarkenton for a safety. A blocked punt gave Minnesota a fourth-quarter touchdown that made the score 9-6 after the extra point was missed, but the Steelers immediately went on a 66-yard scoring drive that clinched the victory.
