Game Summary

The Miami Dolphins led 17-10 at halftime and 17-13 at the end of the third quarter, but the Redskins scored 14 points in the fourth quarter bring Washington its first NFL championship since 1942. The big play was a 43-yard touchdown run by John Riggins on a fourth-and-one play that put the Redskins ahead. Riggins rushed for a record 166 yards on 38 carries and was named MVP.
