Game Summary

Despite wasting a couple of early scoring opportunities, the Redskins took a 17-0 halftime lead and an interception on the first play of the second half set up a quick touchdown to make it 24-0. Buffalo's Thurman Thomas was held to 13 yards on 10 carries and Jim Kelly was forced to throw a record 58 times. He completed 28 but had 4 interceptions. MVP Mark Rypien threw for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joe Gibbs became the third coach to win three Super Bowls. Remarkably, he did it with three different quarterbacks.
