History
Three Wisconsin snowmobilers, Mike Trapp, C. J. Ramstad, and Loren Anderson, got the idea for a museum and hall of fame while trail riding in 1983. The following January, they staged the first annual "Ride with the Champs" in Minocqua, WI, to raise money.
The International Snowmobile Hall of Fame was incorporated in 1985 and 10 charter members were inducted in 1988. Three or four new members have been added each year since then.
In 1989, the hall of fame and museum formally opened in Eagle River, WI. It moved into a new home in St. Germain, WI, in 1993.
