College Soccer

Named for Robert Hermann of St. Louis, a long-time promoter of soccer and one of the founders of the North American Soccer League, the Hermann Trophy was originally presented in 1967 to the college soccer player of the year.
A second Hermann Trophy for the woman college player of the year was added in 1988.
Winners are selected by a panel made up of college coaches and sportswriters who regularly cover college soccer.
