The National Trap Shooting Hall of Fame & Museum was dedicated and its first 15 members were inducted on August 19, 1969, when it opened in a new wing of the Amateur Trapshooting Association headquarters in Vandalia, Ohio.
Candidates are eligible for the hall of fame after 25 years of participation in the sport.
Museum displays follow the history of trapshooting from the early 19th century, when live pigeons released from traps were the targets, to the present day.
The museum also houses a reference library that includes books, magazines, catalogues, patents, and personal interviews.
