History
USA Badminton established a hall of fame in 1956 and inductions were held periodically through 1998, but the hall then became dormant for five years.
In 2003, the organization came up with a new idea to honor the sport's top athletes, coaches, and officials: a Walk of Fame at the Orange County Badminton Club in Orange, California.
The walk of fame is an actual wealk, with a 1-foot-square tile of black granite for each person honored. The tile bears the name, year of induction, and category for the person.
All of those inducted into the original hall of fame are also honored on the walk of fame.
Athletes are eligible eight years after retiring from major competition, while non-athletes become eligible at reaching the age of 55. Inductions have been held every two years since 2004.
