Washington Senators 1921

History

The Senators were a hastily organized team that didn't play another APFA team until November 27, after a couple of tune-ups against lesser, semi-pro teams. They actually played only three league games, but gained one victory by forfeit when the financially-troubled Rochester Jefferson didn't make the trip to Washington for a scheduled game.

After beating the Cleveland Tigers, the Senators "borrowed" a couple of players from the Tigers, whose season was over. That didn't help much in their final game, a 28-14 loss to the Canton Bulldogs. The team was then permanently disbanded.
