History
The Professional Women's Bowlers Association inaugurated its national championship tournament, then known as the PWBA National, in 1960.
The PWBA became the Women's Professional Bowling Association in 1978 and the name of the tournament was accordingly changed.
The national championship was discontinued when the WPBA was replaced by the Ladies Professional Bowlers Tour in 1981, and it has never been resumed.
